Spanish Virgin Islands

The tempo in the SVI is relaxed as this scene in the village of Esperanza depicts..

This relatively undiscovered pearl of the Virgin Islands, located approximately half way between St. Thomas and the eastern end of Puerto Rico, has some of the finest beaches in the area. Cruises into this area are geared to those who value the tranquility that comes with low population density, no beach bars or loud music and low charter boat density.
There are three main villages in these islands: Dewey on the island of Culebra; Isabel Segunda on the north side of, and centered east west along the length of Vieques; Esperanza on the south side of Vieques about one third of the length from the western Punta Arenas next to Ensenada Sun Bay and Puerto Real.
The perfect charter lasting one week or more in the SVI begins in St. Thomas, boarding in Charlotte Amalie, and ending on Vieques island with a ridiculously inexpensive and fun ferry boat ride from Isabel Segunda to Fajardo (pronounced "fahardo") on Puerto Rico. A half-hour to one-hour taxi ride then can deposit our relaxed and happy guests in the San Juan area, now one week closer to their next visit on Fidelity.
