Grenada

As of the start of the 2009 - 2010 season,  Interisland Sailing Vacations will no longer undertake chartering outside of the Virgin Islands. We leave these pages as a resource for those having an interest in other Caribbean venues as there are many spectacular possibilities for those with a more adventurous spirit.

Please contact http://flagshipvi.com if you have a further interest in "down-island charters."

At the very south end of the Caribbean island chain, the Spice Island has an interior mainly untouched by development. With rain forests, waterfalls, tropical flowers, a volcanically warm crater lake high in the mists of the island's peaks, Grenada is the epitome of ones image of a lush, mysterious tropical island. Much of the world's supply of nutmeg comes from this isle as do a myriad of other spices.

Since the end of the Cuban occupation in the 1980's, This island, together with Carriacou, have form a separate and independent nation. St. Vincent is still in a relatively natural state where tourism has not overwhelmed the island and its economy.

A drive up the west coast to Gouyave, thence inland up the mountain to Concord falls subjects the senses to a multitude of varying images, smells and sounds. First there is the spectacular scenery, then the abundance of naturally growing flowers, culminating in the dizying view of the falls from above, or a hike down the steps to the pools at the base of the falls.

Downtown St. George's

Downtown St. George's city bustles with activity with taxis and buses (actually patron-packed minivans) alternating between running at breakneck speed and stagnant in traffic.

Grand Etang Crater Lake

Enjoy a peaceful moment resting on the banks of Grand Etang high in the Island's interior. The lake is seldom free of the mists that shroud the highest peaks of Grenada.

Concord Water Falls

While you can view spectacular Concord Falls from above, to really experience the awe inspiring effect one must hike down into the gorge carved out by the water over thousands of years.
